Job Overview

FWDthink LLC, a small woman-owned consulting company, is seeking an experienced UX/UI Design Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team.

We support Federal, State, Local Government & Commercial clients, providing solutions in Technology, Acquisition Support, Financial Management, Education and Consulting.

As a Principal UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for guiding the design process from concept to implementation, ensuring our products meet high standards of usability, accessibility, and user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise and guidance in UX/UI design, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that align with business objectives and user needs.
  • Conduct detailed user research and gather requirements to understand user needs and preferences, advocating for the user and incorporating feedback into the design process.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups that effectively communicate design ideas and enhance the user experience.
  • Evaluate and optimize design solutions based on criteria such as cost-effectiveness, performance, reliability, and safety.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a DHS Public Trust Clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design expertise.
  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design, agile/iterative design, and emerging design trends, user research methodologies, and ability to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations.
  • Proficient with design, research, communication, and project management tools such as Figma, FigJam, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or InVision.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and champion design ideas to cross-functional teams.
Salary

$140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience.
