McLoughlin Dental Care is a unique dental practice that thrives on collaboration, communication, and community. We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our 8-person team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Dental Assistant to provide exceptional patient care and support to our dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming patients, conducting thorough reviews of patient health history, taking and processing x-rays, and providing superior chairside assistance to supported dentists.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience throughout their dental journey.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient health history to provide quality care.
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments, utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
  • Provide superior chairside assistance to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures, adhering to the state dental practice act.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, placing and expediting orders as needed.
  • Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment.
  • Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification, if required under the state dental practice act.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience.
  • Dental assisting school certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year.
