Position Overview

Role: Stakeholder Engagement Lead – Flood Warning Infrastructure Network

Level: Executive Level 1, Non-ongoing for up to 3 years

Salary: $110,115 - $120,000 + superannuation

The Australian Government is committing significant resources to enhance flood warning systems in regions most vulnerable to flooding.

This initiative aims to streamline the management and upkeep of essential flood warning assets by integrating and upgrading key rain and river level gauges owned by local and state governments into the existing national flood warning framework.

The Bureau's Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program is in search of a seasoned Stakeholder Engagement professional. This individual will spearhead collaboration among various Bureau Groups and Programs, fostering a reputation as a reliable partner in delivering flood warning services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead dedicated Customer Leads in communication and engagement efforts with critical government and community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the effective delivery of essential flood warning infrastructure.
  • Identify and communicate project impacts and stakeholder sentiments.

This newly established function presents a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to enhance the Bureau's stakeholder engagement capabilities, supporting our emergency management partners in flood warning operations.

Reporting Structure: This role will report to both the Manager of Stakeholder Engagement - Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program and the Manager of Hazard, Preparedness and Response – National.
