Job Summary

Advocate Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality nutrition care to our patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Nutrition Plans: Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized nutrition plans for patients, taking into account their medical history, dietary needs, and lifestyle.
  • Conduct Nutritional Assessments: Conduct thorough nutritional assessments of patients, including calculations of nutrition requirements and nutrient content of enteral and parental feedings.
  • Communicate with Healthcare Teams: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide Nutrition Education: Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on proper nutrition, including food selection, preparation, and meal planning.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, including nutrition plans, assessments, and education.
  • Collaborate with Graduate Dietitians: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to graduate dietitians, ensuring they receive the training and development needed to excel in their roles.
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in nutrition care, ensuring Advocate Health remains at the forefront of patient care.
Requirements
  • Degree in Dietetics: Bachelor's degree in dietetics or a related field.
  • Certification and Registration: Dietitian certification issued by the state in which you practice, and registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer software and systems, including electronic health records.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the work shift.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Functional vision, hearing, speech, and touch.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel between work sites, with potential exposure to weather-related hazards.
