Job Title: Quality Technician

As a Quality Technician at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing Pre-Operative and Food Safety inspections to ensure compliance with GMP and USDA requirements.
  • Conducting Daily Operating Inspections to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
  • Performing Magnet and Metal Detector Record Checks and informing the Supervisor of any deficiencies.
  • Conducting ATP swab tests, including Daily and Weekly Line Swabs.
  • Calibrating lab equipment such as lab scales, pH meters, and salt analyzers.
  • Performing organic start-up tests, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Reviewing previous day's HACCP records daily.
  • Changing thermometer recorder charts as needed.
  • Conducting Quality Audits, including quality systems, production scales, and salt analyzers.
  • Performing in-bound checks and verifying COAs to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Maintaining stock of laboratory and production supplies as directed.
  • Acting as a liaison with USDA.
  • Distributing weekly Code Date Sheets in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and following up on food safety and food quality concerns.
  • Performing Pizza Line Coverage checks.
  • Notifying Supervisor of all down times.
  • Following and enforcing all Food Safety PPE/GMP requirements and reporting any concerns.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Experience in quality checks and inspections, particularly in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of GMP and USDA requirements.
  • Biology and chemistry coursework.
  • Quality assurance and quality control experience.
  • Laboratory experience.
