As a dedicated healthcare professional, the Telemetry LPN/LVN takes on the responsibility and accountability for delivering exceptional care to patients in telemetry settings.

The Telemetry LPN/LVN exhibits the capability to make informed clinical decisions efficiently, under supervision.

This role requires critical thinking and adeptness in coordinating patient care, consistently adhering to nursing standards while remaining accountable for the management of patient care.


Key Responsibilities:
+ Employs the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the telemetry unit + Conducts focused assessments to identify specific patient needs + Evaluates signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in patients' conditions + Monitors EKG readings and communicates any changes to physicians + Records vital signs, including oxygen saturation, blood pressure, respiratory patterns, and more.

  • Tracks patient progress and updates medical records as necessary Responds to patients experiencing cardiac distress, notifying the RN and physician as required Manages and administers medications Utilizes EKG monitoring Educates patients on cardiac health and communicates with families when appropriate Administers diagnostic tests, analyzes laboratory results, and reports findings to physicians Documents the patient's care plan Identifies and prioritizes actions based on patient care needs Executes interventions according to established priorities, care plans, and hospital policies while ensuring patient care outcomes Provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients Records patients' responses to nursing interventions and other treatments Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Current Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse license for the state of practice + Preferred one year of experience in Telemetry + Adheres to all relevant professional standards of practice + Completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable + Current CPR certification if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulations + Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the job site + Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations + Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively elicit and provide information to appropriate individuals (including supervisors, co-workers, and clients); proficiency in English is required + Computer proficiency is necessary + Must be at least 18 years of age.
