Your Contribution:

We are looking for a talented and driven EV Charging Field Service Technician. This vital position entails the on-site repair and upkeep of EV charging stations within a designated geographic area. Responsibilities include site safety, electrical system maintenance and repair, site field reporting, and other tasks necessary to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the site. The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision and be prepared to operate in various field conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions on a diverse range of equipment, from Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers to DC Fast Chargers.
  • Execute testing on equipment, including but not limited to insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imaging, torque tests, and performance assessments.
  • Diagnose system performance issues and identify/locate ground faults.
  • Collaborate closely with the Planning and Scheduling team to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and timely completion of work orders.
  • Review site manuals and schematics to guarantee appropriate service and maintenance of equipment.
  • Engage in fieldwork encompassing electrical and mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance of site equipment, site field reporting, work order completion, and additional tasks as required.
  • Ensure that all site issues are documented in the work order system and addressed promptly.

Specific duties may adapt over time based on business and client requirements.

Compensation: Pay Range- $$ hourly/ DOE

Core Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in servicing electrical power equipment within the commercial or utility energy sector and/or formal electrical training.
  • Proficient electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Familiarity with Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power installations, or other relevant power electronics is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and fulfill site work requirements.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capability to analyze and resolve issues independently with a strong focus on achieving results.

Physical/Work Environment:

  • This role necessitates working in various environmental conditions, depending on job location and season, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Exposure to high voltages and currents is expected.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, including a hard hat and safety glasses.
  • Repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers is required.
  • Conduct site safety evaluations and identify all potential hazards on the job site, properly generating and completing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and other safety-related documentation in accordance with OSHA and site-specific requirements.
