We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at the Kaw Nation. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional oral health care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare treatment rooms for patients, ensuring adherence to clinical and infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment, including welcoming, seating, and draping, and providing oral hygiene instructions.
- Manage instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment, including sharpening, sterilizing, and storing.
- Complete oral assessments, including reviewing dental history, evaluating gingival condition, and taking and interpreting dental radiographs.
- Provide dental prophylaxis and non-surgical periodontal therapy, including removing calculus and stains, and applying anti-caries agents.
- Administer local anesthetics and/or nitrous oxide analgesia as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment notes, including vital signs, medical and dental histories, and treatment rendered.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidential information.
- Protect patients and employees by maintaining a safe and clean work environment and complying with OSHA, CDC, ADA, and clinic procedures.
- Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited dental hygiene school.
- State license to practice as a dental hygienist.
- Competency in multiple areas of dental health, including dental prophylaxis and non-surgical periodontal therapy.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, pull, push, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
