About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in DeRidder, LA. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, trucks, and service vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain knowledge and adherence to all safety policies
- Conduct vehicle/equipment inspections and diagnostic tests; identify and resolve worn, broken, or damaged parts
- Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system problems and consider possible solutions
- Maintain vehicles/equipment using preventive maintenance procedures that meet or exceed industry standards
- Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
- Grease, oil, and lubricate components during preventive maintenance service
- Work under limited supervision
- Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Minimum of 2 years of professional diesel mechanic experience
- Deep working knowledge of hydraulics and diesel vehicles
- Experience using mig and stick welding processes
- Must provide own hand tools
