Radiologic Technologist Assistant

As an Unregistered Radiologic Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will operate radiology equipment under the direct supervision of a registered and licensed Radiology technologist in the state of WA. You will actively and continuously enrolled in a certified Radiology Technology program. Under direct supervision of a licensed RT, you will produce radiographic images of specified areas of the body and perform related technical x-ray procedures in accordance with physicians' orders and standard techniques, procedures, or specific instructions.
Key Responsibilities- Document all quality control as required for regulatory agencies.
- Consider the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation process in delivery of services to patients in the age group served.
- Assess data reflective of the patients' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients' requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and provide the care needed in accordance with department policy.
- Exercise clinical judgment within scope of practice.
- Create CDs of images to be sent to outside physicians, fax reports to outside physician offices as needed.
- Greet, instruct, and communicate to all patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms for use by physicians and other medical providers by cleaning, stocking, and arranging supplies, equipment, and instruments.
- Review orders and take appropriate action.
- Work under the direct supervision of a WA state-licensed RT. The supervisor (RT) must be present in the facility and immediately available to offer any assistance or guidance to the student while the student is performing various radiological procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
- Must be in good academic standing in the RT program.
- Enrolled in a Radiologic Technology training program approved by the American Medical Association.
- Ability to operate Radiologic equipment and perform related technical procedures under direct supervision.
- May require heavy lifting.
- General knowledge of medical terminology and techniques and procedures.
- Effective verbal communication skills and basic keyboarding skills required.
- Highly effective organizational and multitasking skills.
