Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Your primary goal will be to help people improve their speech and language skills, as well as their ability to swallow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing diagnostic tools and results to identify an accurate diagnosis and develop an effective treatment plan
  • Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech, and language difficulty
  • Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs
  • Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency
  • Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language
  • Working with adults and children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow
  • Counseling individuals and families on ways to cope with swallowing and communication disorders
  • Communicating diagnoses, test results, and available treatments in terms that clients and their families can understand
  • Providing compassion and empathy when working with individuals frustrated by the difficulties they are experiencing
  • Adjusting treatment plans as required and identifying alternative ways to help
  • Maintaining notes on treatment and progress
  • Listening to concerns and symptoms of clients to decide the most appropriate course of treatment
Qualifications:
  • Valid and unencumbered state license or certification
  • Recent Speech Language Pathologist experience in a rehab setting
  • BLS certification
