Design Engineer

At THE JOR-MAC COMPANY INC, we are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing sheet metal products from components to complete assemblies, meeting or exceeding customer production and quality standards.

• Design and develop sheet metal products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing.
• Utilize SolidWorks to create and maintain design layouts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and implement design improvements to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing processes.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful product development and delivery.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and methods.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering and three to five years of related experience, or seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Previous experience with SolidWorks and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, professional journals, and blueprints.
• Ability to write reports and documentation, and communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees.

This role requires:

• Regular sitting, talking, and hearing.
• Occasional standing, walking, and reaching above shoulders.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of drawings, files, parts, components, and manuals weighing up to 25 pounds.
