Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues related to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair tasks with supervisory and management teams.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) procedures on equipment and facilities.
  • Effectively communicate the status of equipment and any issues to management.
  • Mentor and train junior maintenance staff in effective troubleshooting techniques.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the inventory of critical spare parts, including creating purchase requisitions.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks for the building and grounds, including painting and snow removal.
  • Execute low voltage wiring projects (less than 600VAC), including installation for new equipment and lighting.
  • Handle basic plumbing tasks and repairs for both threaded and soldered piping systems.
  • Fabricate and repair metal structures using MIG and stick welding methods.
  • Carry out basic machining operations using equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and surface grinders.
  • Ensure safe operation and cleanliness of all departmental equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in coordinating maintenance activities with management personnel.
  • Proficient in executing low voltage wiring projects (less than 600VAC).
  • Basic plumbing skills, including the ability to repair threaded and soldered piping systems.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and repair using MIG and stick welding techniques.
  • Basic machining skills with tools such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and surface grinders.
