Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sheetmetal Technician Senior to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Use complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation tasks, ensuring compliance with internal and FAA quality specifications.
  2. Mentor and train junior Sheetmetal Technicians, reviewing their work to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  3. Oversee projects and assess requirements to procure necessary materials and documentation.
  4. Operate shop equipment, such as brakes, presses, and riveting equipment, to shape and form complex angles and configurations.
  5. Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required.
  6. Conduct monthly 5S audits and utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
  7. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements.
Requirements
  1. Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  3. Valid driver's license to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Ability to adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift.
  6. Good working knowledge of computers and experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
