We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Technologist to join our team at Aldevra. As a Radiation Therapy Technologist, you will play a critical role in administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation to patients undergoing radiation therapy.
Responsibilities:- Review and verify patient treatment plans and treatment machine parameters prior to each treatment session.
- Perform quality assurance warm-up tests on treatment units and simulators, and report any deficiencies to the supervisor and/or physicist.
- Position patients accurately on the treatment table according to established protocols.
- Obtain electronic portal images during the prescribed course of treatment, as required.
- Recognize emergency patient conditions and provide assistance and/or initiate first aid or basic life support when necessary.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of patient setups and treatments using ARIA and Computerized Patient Record System.
- Coordinate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist.
- Successful completion of a program in therapeutic radiologic technology, evidenced by a certificate or an associate's or higher degree accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology or other accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Meet the credentialing standards in 42 C.F.R. Part 75.
- Must be certified in therapeutic radiologic technology by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Knowledge in specialized areas of therapeutic radiologic technology, including therapeutic radiologic treatments, simulation, mold room, treatment planning, medical dosimetry, total body irradiation, and brachytherapy procedures.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, with some bending and moderate lifting required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner.
- Excellent and accurate written communication.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, online calendars, and cloud systems.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry.
