About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Area Nurse Manager to join our team at Brookdale Senior Living. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the healthcare operations of our communities in an assigned district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the District Director of Clinical Services (DDCS) in managing the healthcare operations of the communities in an assigned district.
  • Ensure residents' healthcare needs are met in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as Brookdale standards.
  • Travel within the district as assigned to support management vacancy, training, auditing, and any other area identified to ensure clinical excellence and meet state requirements.
  • Fill the role of HWD in assigned communities when an HWD is on leave, extended vacation, or the position is vacant.
  • Provide clinical support and guidance for communities with regulatory deficiencies.
  • Audit community clinical compliance and partner with other leaders to design and implement action plans as needed.
  • Provide root cause analysis and hands-on support to ensure clinical outcomes meet standards and key areas are current.
  • Support clinical initiatives and roll-outs by leading training for the district and/or individual communities as assigned by DDCS.
  • Coordinate and sign resident assessments in some states, including completing comprehensive assessments.
  • Facilitate RN delegations for medications and care per state regulations.
  • Participate in a variety of meetings with the division, district, and individual communities.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to clinical leaders and front-line staff.
  • Participate in clinical training and audits compliance, including facilitating Med Tech/QMAP/Med. Aide training and competency evaluations.
  • May assist DDCS in clinical Quality Assurance (QA) site visits.
  • Provide insight to DDCS on overall assessment of community strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
  • May be asked to provide regular reports.
  • Support DDCS with special projects as assigned.
  • Provide district clinical support when DDCS is unavailable, including responding to questions and support move-in/out discussions.
  • Ensure proper and timely documentation in accordance with Brookdale policies and procedures and federal and state requirements.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and adhere to company policies, procedures, and Clinical Systems.
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in applying nursing knowledge in accordance with state nursing regulations.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in nursing, health education, or related field or Diploma RN.
  • Two or more years of direct nursing experience with older adults.
  • Current nurse (RN) license, issued by the appropriate state licensing agency.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
