Position Overview

• Partner with firmware developers to gain insights into proposed design solutions and provide constructive feedback.

• Participate in reviews of design, user interface, application programming interface (API), firmware, and testing cases.

• Convert high-level product specifications into firmware testing scenarios. Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-organized testing plans.

• Assess, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

• Generate timely and precise software testing status reports and metrics for distribution to the engineering team.

• Conduct performance evaluations to assess system scalability, stability, and response times.

• Diligently log and monitor defects/bugs identified in project management tools and execute thorough regression testing upon resolution of issues.

• Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines, such as hardware and software, to understand technologies and identify root causes of issues.

• Proactively explore new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies.
Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.

• Over 8 years of experience in embedded software/firmware quality assurance and/or embedded software/firmware development. (Experience in web or desktop applications is not applicable)

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning.

• Quick learner with a positive attitude.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Familiarity with hardware and/or software development lifecycle processes.

• In-depth understanding of firmware operations and robust knowledge of embedded firmware testing.

• Experience or knowledge of firmware design tools, programming languages, debugging, and result analysis.

• Proven experience in designing and executing tests to validate firmware and camera systems, ensuring accurate, reliable, and robust data collection.

• Proficient in using project management and bug tracking software such as Jira/Confluence.

• Skilled in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive firmware test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.

• Experience in code development and/or scripting languages such as Python, along with familiarity with Unix/Linux systems software (operating system commands, shell scripts, and configurations).
