Position Overview

The Sales Associate role is crucial for delivering exceptional customer service, managing cash register transactions (POS), driving sales, and ensuring effective merchandising, signage, pricing, and loss prevention while maintaining store cleanliness in accordance with company policies and standards. This position is considered safety-sensitive and requires a negative drug screening.

Key Responsibilities

This role does not include supervisory duties. The individual must be capable of performing a variety of tasks throughout the majority of their work shift. While specific responsibilities may vary daily, it is essential to execute the following tasks accurately, efficiently, and safely:

  • Handle transactions and merchandise through the cash register (POS) while adhering to cash handling protocols.
  • Assist with floor layout changes, merchandising, display upkeep, and merchandise assembly.
  • Conduct fuel or gasoline clean-up at the pump area.
  • Support in receiving and monitoring stock levels on the sales floor, ensuring timely re-wrapping of products.
  • Implement price adjustments and markdowns as necessary.
  • Relay customer requests to management effectively.
  • Contribute to maintaining store cleanliness and organization.
  • Complete all mandatory training, including Class C Certification.

Work Environment

  • The working environment is generally pleasant, primarily indoors with moderate noise levels. Floors are typically hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.), and lighting and temperature conditions are adequate.
  • Shifts may vary, generally lasting no less than 4 hours and potentially exceeding 8 hours. Availability for holiday, evening, and weekend shifts may be required based on business needs.
  • Travel is not anticipated for this position.

  • Maintain consistent and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts and possess the ability to work varied hours, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Foster a safe and productive work environment for colleagues and customers, adhering to company safety training and guidelines.
  • Ensure every customer receives outstanding service, including greeting and acknowledging each guest.
  • Stay informed about all product details, promotional offers, and advertisements.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and practices, including those related to signage, pricing, and loss prevention.
