**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team at Bartow County Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, performing accounts payable and receivable functions, and producing monthly financial reports.

**Responsibilities:**

* Maintain a complete and systematic set of financial records, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements.

* Perform all functions related to Accounts Payable, including reviewing invoices, entering invoices for payment, and cutting checks.

* Produce monthly financial reports within required timelines.

* Distribute, track, and collect school café change funds at the end of the school year.

* Act as SN liaison with bank and procure/distribute banking supplies to café managers.

* Perform all functions related to Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, documentation for rebates, and credits.

* Make SN bank deposits as necessary.

* Reconcile school café deposit slips with bank statements and verify daily deposits.

* Using school café data, produce and submit monthly claims for reimbursement from the Georgia Department of Education.

* Process, record, and file all claims for Commodity Rebates.

* Manage and maintain all activities with NSF check recovery system.

* Manage and maintain all activities related to online meal payment system.

* Verify School Nutrition payroll, compute payroll accruals, and disburse payroll reimbursement to the business office.

* Assist Director in calculating budget expenses and revenues for annual budget.

* Assist in processing Free & Reduced-Price Meal applications and conducting federal required on-site reviews.

* Assist managers with software and troubleshooting other computer problems.

* Provide clerical support to SN Program Director and other staff members as needed.

**Qualifications:**

* Associate Degree or experience equivalent with concentration in Business or Food Service, Bachelor's preferred.

* Georgia Driver's License.

* 3 years successful experience in business administration or accounting.

* Knowledge of automated accounting software; excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office, Excel, SN software - required.

* Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

* Maintain confidentiality, evaluate, prioritize workload, and meet aggressive deadlines.

* Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program regulations - strongly preferred.
