We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SART Nurse to join our team at the County of San Mateo, CA. As a SART Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Job Summary:The SART Nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary response team, collaborating with law enforcement investigators, CPS social workers, and Rape Trauma Services counselors to respond to victims at the Keller Center. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse, underserved populations and possess a strong understanding of forensic nursing principles.
Responsibilities:- Perform forensic medical exams to document injuries, collect and preserve evidence, and provide post-assault medications for adult and adolescent victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
- Assist pediatric providers with forensic evidence collection and documentation for pediatric sexual abuse patients.
- Complete mandated reporting requirements if necessary.
- Attend court proceedings if subpoenaed.
- Maintain a current California RN license.
- Participate in Q/A, competency reviews, and mandatory trainings.
- Successfully complete a 40-hour Adolescent/Adult SART/SANE accredited training program.
As a SART Nurse with the County of San Mateo, CA, you will receive competitive compensation, including on-call pay and overtime opportunities. You will also have access to ongoing training and education in forensic nursing, including a 40-hour Adolescent/Adult SART/SANE accredited training program.
