Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Endoscopy department. As a Per Diem RN, you will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, providing care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for assigned patients in multiple specialties.
- Set priorities when organizing care for patients with varying acuity.
- Maintain continuity through clear and concise communication.
- Document patient care in a clear, complete, and concise manner, in compliance with nursing documentation standards.
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on data from an initial assessment of patient and family, information from other members of the healthcare team, intra-agency referral, and previous medical records.
- Triage patient phone calls.
- Develop comprehensive educational plans for patients and families, utilizing appropriate resources and documents per the department's documentation standards.
- Develop comprehensive care plans utilizing appropriate resources and referrals, including community resources when needed.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and document progress in meeting stated goals, revising the plan of care as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Participate actively in quality management and/or quality improvement programs.
- Provide a safe environment for patients, staff, family, and visitors.
- Administer medication and/or vaccinations safely per established policies and procedures.
- Perform nursing procedures safely and efficiently.
- Use procedural equipment safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrate awareness of potential/actual risks of infection and modes of transmission, taking universal precautions in nursing practice.
- Licensed RN in Massachusetts.
- At least 2 years of experience as a RN required, Endoscopy experience strongly preferred.
- Electronic Medical Record experience strongly preferred.
- Membership in professional organizations is recommended, and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
- Must show evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
- Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
- Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
