About the Position

  • We are seeking a Power Distribution Engineering Team Leader to join our electrical engineering group at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems, for large-scale projects.
  • You will work closely with project teams to ensure that electrical systems meet industry standards and codes, and provide technical specifications and documentation for project stakeholders.
  • With your expertise in electrical engineering and leadership, you will direct and manage electrical engineering teams on large, complex projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct and manage electrical engineering teams on large, complex projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Design and Technical Expertise: Develop and implement electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems, in accordance with industry standards and codes.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry developments, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes and enhance team performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and PE licensure required.
  • Experience: Minimum six years' experience in A/E industry, with a proven track record of leading electrical engineering projects and teams.
  • Skillset: Proficiency in short circuit and selective coordination calculation, utilization of EDSA, SKM, or other analytical modeling software, excellent written/verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
  • Licensure: LEED Accredited and proficient in CADD/Revit.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Estimated Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
