Position Summary
Role Overview:
As a vital member of our culinary team, the cook collaborates closely with the executive chef and fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will work effectively within a team, aiming for the highest standards of food quality, guest satisfaction, and positive interactions with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that promotes an exceptional dining experience while adhering to the esteemed standards of Relais & Châteaux.
- Facilitate daily communication with the culinary team, dining service managers, and sommeliers regarding special requests, menu adjustments, and guest dietary requirements.
- Assist the executive chef in developing recipes, planning menus, presenting dishes, and coordinating special events.
- Review daily communications to address guest requests and dietary considerations.
- Adjust recipes and orders to accommodate customer preferences and needs.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail in plate presentation.
- Deliver exemplary customer service, ensuring an optimal dining experience while maintaining a professional kitchen environment, including sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Implement sanitary practices for food handling, maintain cleanliness, and ensure proper upkeep of kitchen equipment and storage areas, complying with all operational standards and regulations.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare food efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
- Assist in receiving and organizing supplies.

Qualifications:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
- Skills in cleaning, chopping, slicing, cooking, and plating food.
- Must be capable of ascending and descending stairs.
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
- Occasional bending and reaching required.
- Ability to move products weighing up to 50 pounds over short distances.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, confined environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with diverse personalities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
