Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and FPGA Engineer to join our team at Sparktek. As a key member of our MR Patient Care group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative FPGA-based solutions for our hospital patient monitoring products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement world-class FPGA designs using VHDL, including nonlinear and linear filter algorithms.
  • Develop and run simulation test benches to prove out and debug VHDL designs.
  • Implement and run designs on real hardware to verify functionality.
  • Provide technical leadership in problem-solving and hardware integration activities.
  • Help define electrical architecture for current and advanced development projects.
  • Define test criteria and assist with the creation of test plans.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of strong technical experience in FPGA design and development.
  • BS in engineering required, MS in engineering preferred.
  • Design experience with FPGAs in VHDL and proficiency with simulation, synthesis, debug, and integration tools.
  • Experience with specifying and meeting FPGA timing closure and constraints.
  • Working knowledge of GIT.
  • Ability to implement complex mathematical functions and fixed-point math using resource-efficient VHDL coding styles and FPGA-specific IP cores.
  • Scripting languages such as Python desirable.
