JOB TITLE: School Social Worker
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Education
PAY GRADE: 81 [ salary range: 27.47hr-42.17hr based on qualifications and experience ]
SUPERVISOR: Director of Education
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to the Agency's Code of Conduct, policies, and regulations.
- Conduct initial evaluations and assist families with necessary documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and prevention services for youth and families.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, along with parent education and training.
- Prepare discharge summaries for each youth upon completion of services.
- Maintain expertise in special education and clinical practices.
- Assist in the development of IEPs, report cards, and treatment team documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development training.
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity towards students and colleagues.
- Organize schedules to deliver services effectively to youth and families.
- Evaluate the strengths, needs, and progress of each youth and family.
- Refer youth and families to specialized clinical services as needed.
- Represent the School in collaborations with community organizations.
- Lead the treatment team process.
- Ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
- Collaborate with educators to assess and recommend appropriate programs for students.
- Work alongside youth and families to enhance their involvement in the educational process.
- Act as an advocate and liaison for students and families.
- Engage with local government agencies as necessary.
- Coordinate case planning and progress monitoring both internally and externally.
- Maintain regular communication with educators, program staff, and parents.
- Fulfill legal obligations as a Mandated Reporter.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Social Work. Current/active LMSW in NYS; LCSW preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Exceptional organizational skills. Capacity to effectively lead and collaborate within teams. Creative problem-solving capabilities. Commitment to continuous improvement.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Valid NYS driver's license. Self-driven with strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, flexibility, and adaptability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks and respond to emergencies. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training may be necessary.
