Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Alpha Rae Personnel Inc. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our clients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to students, inmates, juvenile offenders, and consumers housed in state-owned/operated facilities/institutions. This includes observing, assessing, and recording symptoms, reactions, and progress of infirmary patients and/or clinic out-patients. The Registered Nurse will also make nursing rounds, take and record vitals, prepare and administer prescribed medications and ordered treatment plans, and monitor restrained patients on a timely basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional nursing care to students, inmates, juvenile offenders, and consumers housed in state-owned/operated facilities/institutions.
  • Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of infirmary patients and/or clinic out-patients.
  • Makes nursing rounds, takes and records vitals, prepares and administers prescribed medications and ordered treatment plans.
  • Monitors restrained patients on a timely basis.
  • Provides immediate medical attention to emergencies, including administering first aid, arranging transportation to the hospital emergency room, and contacting staff physicians when necessary.
  • Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff, including RNs and LPNs.
  • Participates in staff development and education, reviews care plans written by staff, and trains and orients new employees.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Ohio as issued by the Board of Nursing per Section of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures, state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to nursing, public relations, employee training and development, and inventory control.
  • Skill in operation of medical equipment, including stethoscopes, otoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG machines.
  • Ability to deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables, write meaningful, concise, and accurate reports, gather, collate, and classify information about data, people, or things, and demonstrate physical fitness.
Working Conditions:

The Registered Nurse will work in a multi-building facility, requiring walking and the use of stairs. The facility is an all-male facility, and the Registered Nurse must be able to clear the metal detector, including documentation for items such as pacemakers, artificial knees, and other medical devices. The Registered Nurse must also be able to deal with the potential for tripping hazards, such as underwire bras and other garments.

The Registered Nurse will work a 11pm-7am Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with Sundays and Mondays off. The Registered Nurse will not be required to work overtime or holidays.

The Registered Nurse must have a state ID or driver's license from any state.

The Registered Nurse must be able to perform clerical tasks, including charting and recording medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information, completing required reports, and maintaining a constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medications, and equipment.

The Registered Nurse must also be able to arrange for out-patient clinic appointments, arrange for medical examinations to be done by the school physician, and arrange for new and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians through the local pharmacy.

The Registered Nurse must be able to perform administrative tasks and serve as a liaison with others in the organization, conduct and/or attend meetings, serve as an instructor on occasion, and serve as a member or leader of problem-solving teams or groups.
