Athletic Trainer

ProMedica is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Care team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing sports-related functions in a school setting and collaborating with the sports medicine department of ProMedica Physicians Group.

• Provide education to athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention and recognition.
• Participate in sports medicine clinics and collaborate with physicians for ongoing medical care.
• Safeguard the health and well-being of students in athletic activities.
• Accept responsibility for recognizing athletic injuries and referring patients to appropriate sites for ongoing care.
• Advise family members, coaches, and collaborating physicians on the status of injured athletes.
• Maintain records of all injuries seen at the high school.
• Accept responsibility for patients' personal care and collaborate with supervising physicians throughout the treatment process.
• Document all student contacts to contribute to the continuity of care and management of sports injuries and training.
• Follow established procedures and observe safety precautions.
• Carry out positioning and reconditioning exercises.
• Train patients in exercises, ambulation, use of equipment, and daily activities.
• Care for braces, prostheses, bandages, and other assistive devices as needed.
• Collaborate and maintain a student trainer program, providing assistance with game and practice coverage.

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• Graduation from an accredited Athletic Trainers Program.
• Maintenance of current licensure with the state Athletic Trainers Board.
• Maintenance of current membership with professional associations.
• 1-2 years of experience in athletic training or a related field.
