About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation and rebuilding of machinery, equipment, and parts in a heavy industrial setting. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing repairs and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices and examining form and texture.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and welding techniques.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work shifts as per schedule.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold weather conditions.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Will be required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Will require basic computer skills necessary to access and write emails, basic word documents, and complete work requests.
Education and Experience
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in industrial maintenance and repairs preferred.
  • Full progression of position will require successful completion of industrial maintenance certification.
Work Environment
  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions, and materials used in the process.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 70 lbs.
  • Work is performed in approximately 100% plant environment.
