About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Abode Hospice and Home Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing essential one-on-one care to individuals in the home care setting.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' levels of speech or language difficulty and determine the need for continued therapy services.
  • Determine the extent of communication problems by administering standardized tests and having patients complete basic reading and vocalizing tasks.
  • Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices, as well as alternative communication methods such as sign language.
  • Instruct other health team personnel, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises and self-exercise programs.
  • Document progress and clinical notes, noting patients' responses to therapy and submitting visit documentation per Agency policy.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree as a Speech Language Pathologist/Speech Therapist.
  • Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist/Speech Therapist.
  • Minimum of one year (1) direct patient care experience, preferably in a home care environment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance.
