Overview

KETTLER, a leading provider of residential services, is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at The Fields of Silver Spring in Silver Spring, MD. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals who possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs in apartments and buildings, responding to resident requests for service within the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair. They will also participate in all maintenance projects, prepare vacant units for market-ready status, and perform preventive maintenance on all systems at the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to multiple residential service requests daily with timeliness and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot issues and take appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within established quality and time standards.
  • Escalate problems to supervisor or outside contractors as necessary.
  • Participate in all maintenance projects, including preparing vacant units for market-ready status.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all systems at the property.
  • Conduct general repairs of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, and completing assigned work orders efficiently.
  • Meet and exceed resident expectations through prompt and professional service delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, including logging and tracking tasks completed.

Required Qualifications:

  • EPA/CFC Type I & II certifications preferred; must obtain within 180 days from date of hire.
  • Basic knowledge of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
  • A valid Driver's License and willingness to live within 30 minutes of the property.
  • Outstanding customer service and focus on providing residents with timely and accurate responses.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to use a computer and communicate effectively with residents, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
