Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at DCS Clinical. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and well-being for our patients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental hygiene services, including cleaning deposits and stains from teeth, detecting disease, and educating patients on oral hygiene and plaque control. You will work closely with our dentist to manage dental and medical emergencies and maintain a clean and safe environment for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
  • Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, and using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession.
  • Arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents.
  • Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply, and directory of emergency numbers.
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders of time of next dental hygiene visit.
  • Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories, charting in patient records.
  • Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
  • License/Certification: Registered Dental Hygienist Required
  • CPR Certification
  • Local Anesthesia and Nitrous certification
  • Laser Certification (preferred)
