Position Summary: We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for an onsite role that operates on a night shift schedule. This position entails working from 4 pm to 2 am over a four-day work week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite evaluations and inspections of products engineered to withstand heavy loads.
  • Utilize the GMAW Spray Transfer welding process.
  • Document Welder Qualification Records, Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Maintain comprehensive daily inspection logs.
  • Administer welder certification assessments in accordance with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, including minor destructive testing.
  • Oversee and verify welder qualification documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to company control processes, procedures, and specifications.
  • Comprehend the stipulations of the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
  • Uphold the established Quality Assurance Manual of the company.
  • Interpret and analyze fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Perform daily checks of welding equipment and related documentation.

Additional Information: All necessary testing equipment and personal protective gear will be supplied by the company.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Certified Welding Inspector certification with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Candidates with backgrounds in construction, civil engineering, defense, marine, or aerospace will also be considered.
  • Certification must be current and issued by the American Welding Society.
  • Ability to identify defects such as cracks, corrosion, or faulty welds that could compromise structural integrity.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings or blueprints is essential.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software and the capability to generate reports in specified formats is required.
