Key Responsibilities

Job Summary

  • As a vital member of the medical team, you will provide surgical care to patients, ensuring the safe and effective execution of invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Under the supervision of surgeons and nursing staff, you will perform preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative tasks within your licensure scope to maintain a safe operating environment, ensure equipment functionality, and uphold conditions that prioritize patient safety.
  • You will also be responsible for applying and staying updated on sterile and aseptic techniques, surgical protocols, and relevant technologies, while effectively collaborating and communicating with the interdisciplinary team to support the physician in performing invasive and therapeutic procedures.
Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC-ST).
  • A minimum of six months of experience in an operating room setting, demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program may substitute for surgical technician program completion.
    • If classified as a Surgical Technician: Maintain registration with the relevant state authority. Registered nurses and practical nurses operating within their licensure do not require surgical technologist registration.
    • If classified as a Certified Surgical Technician: Current certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists is mandatory.
  • Current BLS Certification for healthcare providers.
