About the JobAs a Permit Processing Specialist, you will collaborate with a team of technicians under the guidance of the Compliance Team Lead. Your primary responsibility is to process permit applications efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Processing Permits:
- Review and process applications for permits in a timely manner.
- Verify submitted documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Assist applicants at permit counters.
- Answer questions related to the permit application process.
- Provide guidance on required documentation and procedures.
- Data Management:
- Enter information into automated permit systems.
- Maintain accurate records of permits issued.
- Track the status of applications and approvals.
- Fee Calculation:
- Calculate fees based on financials, square footage, and permit requirements.
- Provide accurate fee assessments to applicants.
- Coordination:
- Collaborate with the field, municipalities, and other internal departments.
- Facilitate communication between applicants and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure a smooth permitting process from application submission to final approval.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- At least 3 years of experience in customer service or data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage larger workloads during high volume periods.
- Familiarity with software applications such as DocuSign, Adobe Pro, and Office 365.
We prefer candidates with:
- Experience in customer service, particularly in the auto or insurance industries.
- Vendor management experience.
- Familiarity with business license and permit forms.
