About the Job

As a Permit Processing Specialist, you will collaborate with a team of technicians under the guidance of the Compliance Team Lead. Your primary responsibility is to process permit applications efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing Permits:
    • Review and process applications for permits in a timely manner.
    • Verify submitted documents for accuracy and completeness.
    • Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
  • Customer Service:
    • Assist applicants at permit counters.
    • Answer questions related to the permit application process.
    • Provide guidance on required documentation and procedures.
  • Data Management:
    • Enter information into automated permit systems.
    • Maintain accurate records of permits issued.
    • Track the status of applications and approvals.
  • Fee Calculation:
    • Calculate fees based on financials, square footage, and permit requirements.
    • Provide accurate fee assessments to applicants.
  • Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the field, municipalities, and other internal departments.
    • Facilitate communication between applicants and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in customer service or data entry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage larger workloads during high volume periods.
  • Familiarity with software applications such as DocuSign, Adobe Pro, and Office 365.
