Job Overview:


The Librarian Educator will deliver both in-person and online reference assistance, including comprehensive individual research consultations. This role involves conducting information literacy sessions or workshops across various platforms, including virtual and asynchronous formats. The incumbent will develop and sustain research resources such as library guides, instructional videos, and presentations. Additionally, they will contribute to collection development and engage in special projects as required. Recent graduates are encouraged to consider this opportunity.



Qualifications:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited program and a minimum of one year of experience in an academic library setting is essential. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of effective teaching methodologies that promote student achievement, particularly in community college environments. Strong communication skills with students from varied backgrounds are crucial. The ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and community members is necessary. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with contemporary library and educational technologies, along with experience using software and tools commonly found in academic libraries, is preferred. An interest in emerging technologies and trends in library services is advantageous. Experience in academic library instruction and the ability to work alongside faculty to integrate information literacy into course content is highly desirable.



Additional Information:


WORK SCHEDULE: This position primarily requires availability during weekdays (up to 25 hours per week) with occasional weekend commitments during the academic year. Limited summer hours may also be available.


COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is competitive. No benefits are included.
