Job Title: Maintenance Specialist III

Join the City of Rowlett's Public Works team as a Maintenance Specialist III. This role involves performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work, operating equipment, and ensuring the safe operating conditions at work sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementing construction, maintenance, and operation activities to provide quality water, wastewater, street, and drainage services.
  • Perform required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe repair, laying, and backfilling.
  • Service water supply, sewer lift stations, and other pumps, ensuring all duties are performed in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Respond to complaints regarding water leaks, pressure loss, or no water; sewer leaks, sewer backups, odors; evaluate situations, explain findings to supervisors, and contact residents and business owners in areas where services will be disconnected.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from High School or GED and three (3) years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or water distribution and sewer collection systems required.
  • Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required with Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months of being hired.
  • Must reside within a 1-hour response time from the Public Works Building.
