Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant/Medical Aide to join our team at Tabitha Assisted Living Community. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care and support to our residents, promoting their well-being and happiness.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation, and continence.
  • Support Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers, and orientation of new employees.
  • Follow department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Prioritize assignments to complete care for Seniors/clients in allotted time, making adjustments throughout shift to meet frequently changing/overlapping needs and/or call lights, when necessary.
  • Implement activities for the Seniors/clients.
  • Prepare, plate, and serve meals, snacks, and other foods requested by/for/to Senior/client.
  • Assist with cleanup of the dining room and be responsible for housekeeping and laundry duties as needed.
Additional Essential Functions (if a Med Aide)
  • Prepare and administer medications, treatments, oxygen, inhalers, and other medications as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures.
  • Administer PRN medications/treatments under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice.
  • Evaluate emergency situations, performing CPR when necessary based on training.
Qualifications
  • Communication: Sufficient fluency to understand and follow written or verbal instructions, provide instruction to others, read and understand a care plan/service plan, policies, procedures, or other similar documentation, interact successfully with others.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability and pass a 50-pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment and at Tabitha's discretion.
  • Age Requirement: At least age 16.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
  • Credentials: CNA and/or MA-40 certification in good standing as demonstrated by inclusion on the Nebraska State Registry. If utilizing MA-40 certification, CPR is required. All certifications must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
