Senior Domestic Violence Advocate

Metropolitan Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Domestic Violence Advocate to join our Family Shelter Service team. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct services to survivors of domestic abuse and their children, including crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, advocacy, life skills development, parenting support, information, and referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to survivors of domestic abuse and their children, including crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, advocacy, life skills development, parenting support, information, and referrals.
- Assess and effectively respond to the needs of survivors seeking supportive services using short-term, strengths-based interventions.
- Develop and regularly review a service plan that describes the client's goals while receiving services and tracks their progress in the achievement of those goals.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of MFS programs and community-based resources.
- Facilitate linkages with services both within MFS and in the community.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree plus 3 years' experience or Bachelor's degree plus 1 year experience, including experience in domestic violence survivor services and other services as appropriate to the specific role.
- Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) certification preferred.
- Training in 40-hour Domestic Violence training preferred at time of hire.
