Associate Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor to join our faculty at Navarro College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching classes on the Corsicana Campus and will be expected to dedicate their primary energies and loyalties to the service of their students.

• Teach classes on the Corsicana Campus
• Meet every scheduled class period for classes which meet on a regular basis
• Develop and implement student-centered learning opportunities
• Evaluate students regularly and fairly based on outcomes and objectives identified in course syllabi
• Conduct classes that encourage critical thinking skills and/or instill professionalism in students
• Respect student privacy and comply with FERPA laws
• Grade and return assignments and tests in a timely manner
• Respond to student correspondence in a reasonable and timely manner
• Utilize student evaluations to improve the quality of instruction
• Plan courses so that content is up to date and presented in an orderly manner
• Provide course averages to students at regular intervals throughout the semester

• Masters Degree in Petroleum Technology or related field
• OR Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Technology or related field and two years of nonteaching, related work experience
• OR Associate of Applied Science Degree in Petroleum Technology or Associate of Applied Science Degree in related field and three years of non-teaching, related work experience
• OR Industry recognized certifications, evidence of proficiency and five years of appropriate, non-teaching related work experience

• Prior teaching experience in a community college environment

• Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
• Busy working environment with numerous interruptions
