Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of trauma and critical care patients, ensuring high-quality care.
  • Engage in educational activities for fellows and residents, fostering a commitment to academic surgical practice.
  • Collaborate with various trauma-related services to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Act as the primary liaison for hospital administration concerning orthopedic trauma quality assurance.
  • Lead outreach initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Orthopaedic Trauma Service.
  • Facilitate regular faculty meetings to discuss departmental strategies and improvements.
  • Appoint and mentor an associate trauma director to ensure comprehensive representation in all relevant activities.
  • Manage the scheduling of trauma faculty, including operating room assignments and on-call duties.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Current full professor rank is required.
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program and Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Sub-specialty fellowship training in Trauma is essential.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Michigan is required.
