Job Summary:

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in providing clinical support to providers within our clinical practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating direct patient care activities, obtaining vital signs, and providing administrative support to ensure seamless patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:

Check in patients and obtain vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and temperature
Reconcile medications and obtain patient medical history information
Expedite patient flow and room patients in a timely manner
Stock clinic supplies and navigate the electronic health record system (EPIC)
Schedule and follow-up on appointments, as well as assist with medication fill and refill requests
Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful manner

Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating databases containing confidential information
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate
Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties, or certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized organization

Preferred Requirements:

Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating databases containing confidential information
