Church Musician for Diocesan Choir

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Church Musician to join our team at the Diocese of Green Bay. As a Church Musician, you will play a vital role in leading worship and creating a spiritual atmosphere for our congregation.

About the Position

This is a non-salaried position with compensation provided on a per-session basis. You will receive $50 per rehearsal session and $50 per Mass (including any before Mass warm-up).

Job Responsibilities

• Accompany the Mixed Choir during rehearsals and Masses under the direction of the Mixed Choir Director
• Prepare repertoire for rehearsals and Masses based on selections by the Mixed Choir Director
• Provide accompaniment at scheduled Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday and Holiday Masses
• Assist in choir warmups and rehearsing music for Mass

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Piano and/or organ keyboard instrumental background required - at least five years of lessons or playing experience
• At least two years experience as accompanist, preferably for a choir
• Ability to take direction from, and respect the decisions made by the director
• Basic sight-reading ability
• Punctuality - arriving on time for rehearsals and Masses

Estimated Salary Range: $2,400 per year

Note: The estimated salary range is calculated based on the number of rehearsals and Masses per month and the compensation provided on a per-session basis.
