Job Summary:

Targa Resources is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our diesel semi-tractors and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel semi-tractors and trailers, including tire changes, brake jobs, and oil changes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, prioritizing repairs to keep our fleet moving.
  • Ensure that all tractors and trailers meet Targa's standards for appearance, mechanical repair, and conditioning.
  • Log all completed maintenance into tracking spreadsheets and ensure compliance with DOT policy.
  • Order parts, maintain inventory, and store excess inventory appropriately.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of mechanical experience with diesel tractors and hazmat trailers.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outside and indoor duties, including lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on a computer with proficiency in email and Excel.
  • Willingness to respond to calls on weekends, after hours, and work overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working as a fleet mechanic.
  • Ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
  • Technical diesel school certificate or any DOT safety school certificate.
