Job Description

CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar is seeking a skilled Sushi Cook to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Cook, you will be responsible for preparing all food items, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare all food items, including sushi, according to standard recipes and procedures.
  • Prep and Assembly: Prep assigned items according to the Prep Lists and par levels set by the Head Sushi Chef.
  • Measuring and Portioning: Properly measure and assemble ingredients required for preparing the standard recipes.
  • Food Handling and Storage: Store and properly handle raw or prepared foods and non-food supplies.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Workstation Maintenance: Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Food Safety: Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines.
  • Efficiency and Organization: Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinate the use of time, material, and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
  • Personal Hygiene: Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
  • Safety and Reporting: Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
  • Training and Development: Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Uniform and Grooming: Follow all designated uniform, grooming, safety, and sanitation rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of high volume sushi restaurant experience.
  • Language: Able to read and understand the English language.
  • Certification: ServSafe Certified is a plus.
  • Math Skills: Basic mathematical skills for measurements.
  • Communication: Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
  • Auditory and Visual Skills: Auditory and visual skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the Company's food & beverage specifications.
  • Organizational Skills: Organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasking: Multi-task oriented.
