Job Description

The Behavioral Consultant performs a variety of job duties under the supervision of the Program Director and recognizes clinical updates and recommendations from the written order. The Behavioral Consultant develops and directs the individualized treatment of clients collaboratively with consumers and families. The Behavioral Consultant provides consultation, assessment, observation, treatment plan development, data collection, and analysis specific to identified target behaviors. The Behavioral Consultant develops and implements an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) with the child and family, identifying and highlighting child, family, educational, social, and recreational strengths as well as areas in which the individual needs improvement. Provision of this service may include preference assessments, reinforcement, extinction, time-out strategies, or other rehabilitative activities as prescribed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist and referenced in the client's Individual Treatment Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and direct individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide consultation, assessment, observation, and data collection services.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs) with clients and families.
  • Identify and highlight client strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Provide preference assessments, reinforcement, extinction, and time-out strategies as prescribed by licensed professionals.
Requirements
  • Licensed behavioral specialist or certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavioral analysis.
  • Graduate degree in ABA, psychology, social work, education, or counseling.
  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults.
  • Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling.
