Job Description

Decker is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Reefer Driver, you will be responsible for hauling refrigerated goods across the country.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate a 53 ft. reefer trailer, traveling east of the Rockies and averaging 1,900 to 2,300 miles per week.
  • Deliver refrigerated goods to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics, including on-time delivery and low CSA violations.
  • Participate in regular safety inspections and maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
Benefits
  • Average gross pay of $1,000 - $1,400 per week.
  • Pay increases of $.01 at 90 days, then $.01 increase annually on anniversary date until cap of $.70 cpm.
  • Monthly bonus of up to $.05 cpm per month.
  • Per diem of $.10 cpm for all drivers.
  • Trailer washout pay of $15 per trailer.
  • Stop pay of $15.00 per pickup and delivery, except load origin and final delivery.
  • Detention pay of $20/hour for on-time delivery detention, capped at $200 each 24 hour period.
  • Layover pay of $75 for 24 hours, then $100 for subsequent 24-hour periods.
  • Breakdown pay of $100 for 1st day, $150 for 2nd day, $200 for 3rd+ days.
Requirements
  • Be available for dispatch 5 days a week.
  • No load refusals.
  • Turn in paperwork by weekly cutoff.
  • 100% on-time delivery; no driver service failures.
  • No CSA violations.
  • No preventable accidents.
Orientation and Onboarding

Decker offers a comprehensive orientation program, including a $500 stipend after completion. Traveling to orientation is reimbursed, and a rental vehicle or plane is provided.

Applicants must have a complete physical within the last 6 months, certified for 6 months or longer and does not expire within the next 3 months; or complete a new physical ahead of time or when arriving to Orientation in Fort Dodge, IA.

All applicants will be subject to a pre-employment urinalysis and hair follicle drug test prior to coming to Orientation. If unable to complete before arriving, tests will be administered on the first day of Orientation. Drivers will not be released to their truck until results come back negative.
