The primary focus of this role is to lead the maintenance team and oversee all activities related to the upkeep of the club, ensuring that it consistently meets Equinox's standards for cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently adhere to Equinox's established policies and procedures
  • Recruit, train, manage, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel
  • Develop employees who show potential for advancement to Maintenance Supervisor roles
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations on work anniversaries
  • Perform reviews for all new employees at 30, 60, and 90 days
  • Ensure Manager on Duty attends monthly facility assessments
  • Train all new hires on club-specific cleaning protocols
  • Regularly conduct cleanliness inspections
  • Facilitate daily meetings with each shift's Manager on Duty
  • Provide daily updates to the Assistant General Manager regarding pending tasks
  • Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance and locker room supplies
  • Conduct frequent walkthroughs of the facility
  • Implement procedures for severe weather scenarios
  • Oversee deliveries
  • Stay knowledgeable and proficient in emergency response protocols
  • Participate in management meetings
  • Maintain high visibility during peak operational hours
  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer service
  • Stay informed about key competitors regarding location, facilities, and equipment
  • Assist in developing the annual budget for the Maintenance Department
  • Undertake additional projects or responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a commercial or fitness environment
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, and train staff effectively
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fitness equipment maintenance
  • Familiarity with tools and cleaning products, as well as OSHA standards
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Ability to implement innovative strategies and address challenges
  • Characterized by integrity and honesty
  • Dedicated and hardworking
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in all tasks
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred
