Position Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Wind Technician to oversee the operational integrity of our wind turbines and associated systems. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient performance of our facilities, specifically at our wind farm locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide technician teams in executing maintenance and operational tasks.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders as required.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to turbine operations.
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of maintenance activities.
• Be available for on-call duties as necessary.
• Assist management with vendor relations and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Uphold safety protocols at all times.
• Climb and work at heights exceeding 300 feet regularly.
• Perform energy isolation procedures in line with safety regulations.
• Execute maintenance tasks, both minor and major, on wind turbines.
• Ensure all aspects of turbine operations are maintained to high standards.
• Complete necessary administrative tasks using Maximo software.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• External candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with required certifications completed during the probationary period.
• Internal candidates should have at least 3 years of experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician, along with necessary certifications.

Preferred Skills:

• Associate's degree or relevant certification in Wind/Renewable Energy.
• Experience with various wind turbine technologies.
• Knowledge of high voltage systems and substation maintenance.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Forklift operation certification.

Working Conditions:

• Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
• Ability to travel to various project sites.
• Exposure to various environmental conditions and operational hazards.
• Physical capability to climb turbine towers and lift heavy equipment.
• Completion of required training programs is essential.
