The County of Los Angeles is seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to fill the position of Psychiatric Technician I. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to individuals with severe mental illnesses.

As a Psychiatric Technician I, you will assist professional staff members in delivering mental health services and direct patient care to clients who are mentally ill or emotionally disturbed.
Responsibilities- Apply principles of mental health in relationships with mentally ill or emotionally disturbed clients as a member of a Psychiatric Mobile Response Team, Clinical Behavioral Management Response Team, crisis intervention team or therapeutic team at an outpatient or inpatient facility.
- Observe, evaluate, record and report to professional staff significant changes in the client's condition.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care including helping clients with personal hygiene such as bathing and personal grooming.
- Record measures of the client's physical condition such as pulse, temperature, respiration, weight, and body mass index.
- Aid or restrain clients to prevent injury to themselves or others.
- Prepare appropriate forms in connection with emergency calls, evaluation of the client's condition, and maintenance of the client's records.
- Assist professional staff members in providing and documenting occupational, recreational and vocational therapy programs related to the client's treatment plan.
- Administer, either orally or by injection, prescribed medications to clients in acute psychiatric settings.
- LICENSE: A valid California State License to practice as a Psychiatric Technician.
- PHYSICAL CLASS: 4 - Arduous. Involves frequent heavy lifting over 25 pounds, often combined with bending, twisting, or working on irregular surfaces; and occasionally requires extraordinary physical activity.
- Experience working with severely mentally ill clients, providing therapeutic support.
- Experience working on a psychiatric multidisciplinary team.
We offer competitive compensation and benefits package, including salary range $46,693.20 - $62,904.00 Annually, depending on experience. We also provide opportunities for career growth and development, as well as a collaborative and supportive work environment.
$54,563.38 per year estimated based on location, job title, and job description.
