Trauma Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Trauma Specialist to join our team at Woods Services. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in supporting emotionally disturbed adolescents and individuals with a history of trauma.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to a therapeutic environment that ensures the safety and well-being of all clients.
- Assist in creating and organizing a residential environment that promotes optimal client care.
- Participate in training and development opportunities, including trauma-specific training.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans and strategies.
- Provide supervision and support to clients, promoting positive relationships and emotional regulation.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and active listening skills to resolve conflicts and promote client well-being.
- Complete reports and documentation to ensure accurate client information.
- Relate to clients and families in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Woods Services' policies and procedures.
- 21 years or older.
- 12 or more college credits in psychology, social work, nursing, education, counseling, theology, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in children's behavioral health, preferably in a trauma-informed environment.
- Ability to implement program guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
